October 2006
10/06/2006 - Overnighted the letter from CPA verifying my husbands income. Sadly it was more difficult then we thought to have a letter written and signed by a CPA. Then when the letter was completed their notary was ill. I was able to pick up the letter today, I rushed it be be apostilled and then overnighted it to our worker. Now we are praying this will be it and our dossier will be headed to Kazakhstan. ($60)

September 2006
09/01/2006 - The rest of our paperwork is FINALLY done, and apostilled, so it is being overnighted today to the adoption agency. So our dossier wil be going to Kazakhstan SOON.
09/19/2006 - Received notification that our social workers license expires Sept 30th 2006, so they want us to get his new license, get it notarized and then apostilled, then also learned that we were supposed to get our INS letter notarized and apostilled... ugghhh! Just when we thought we were done.
09/21/2006 - Received our social workers notarized copy of his new license.
09/22/2006 - Took the social worker's license to get apostilled with the notarized copy of our INS forms, and then overnighted to our adoption worker. ($120)
09/26/2006 - The adoption worker called and wanted a letter verifying my husband's employment, which is so frustrating as we keep thinking that we are done. This means even if I can get the letter first thing on the 27th, and have it notarized and overnighted to me- I won't get until the 28th. Then I have to rush to get it apostilled (and pay another $60 for the RUSH service). If I am lucky I might be able to get it overnighted the same day and to our adoption worker by Friday. Then it needs to be translated and then HOPEFULLY our dossier will go to Kazakhstan next week. I was so hoping to get our little girl home by Christmas but it looks less likely all the time. We have been at this process for well over a year, and I hate that we can't bring her home and worry about her all the time... from how she is feeling, how well she is eating and if she knows that we love her and are trying as hard as we can to get her. They won't tell her about us until we get permission to travel and meet her... which I understand as they don't want the children to get their hopes up in case anything happens... I just really want our little girl to know that we WANT her; that we PICKED her. I hope some day she will be able to see how much we went through to bring her home, so she will know how MUCH we want her.

04/01/2006 - Due to the number of requests about the adoption process, we will regularly update this page to let you know what is going on. Please check back here as often as you would like. This log will start from this date forward, even though we actually started the process in the summer of 2005.
04/11/2006 We received copy of our completed home study ($750.00)..... YEAH!! Finally feels like we are making progress.
04/12/2006 Filed I-600A with INS to get permission to bring our daughter to the USA ($545.00). This takes 30-45 to get approval, so this gives us time to get our dossier completed and ready to send to Kazakhstan as soon as we get our INS clearance. Since our next step is to get the dossier translated into Russian and send to Kazakhstan.
04/15/2006 Received apostilled marriage certificate ($40.00)
04/18/2006 Submitted paperwork for FBI Clearance ($36.00)
04/19/2006 Fingerprinted for INS clearance ($140.00)
04/28/2006 Sent $1,600 to Adoption Agency and signed contracts to adopt Olivia
